A good point about CO2 levels and plants. However, the article does focus on one element vs. human activities, and my point is the lack of intentionality.

The Humanists of the Enlightenment started the ball rolling that humans could direct their own fate sans Divine Predisposition, and so the Marketers have taken over from the priests to create the Fanatical Competicism over competing fanaticisms (brands) under the premise that it will all work out under the magic of the Invisible Hand Job.

Meanwhile, we aren't just burning trees (coal) and oil. We're turning the soil and water into superfund sites contaminated with plastic, burning cows and testing the fences between stability and methane hydrates, as well as getting less sensible in general. Our senses are extended by instruments while our brains are isolated from our physical functionality with automation.

In the meantime, the disaster predictions of CO2 rise are over-hyped, I agree, but not for the same reasons. In general, the CO2 issue is a single symptom of humanity's mean and clever existence under unfettered consumptionism, as well as blind belief in anthropocentrism.

Taking the CO2 'improvement' at face value (that humans have extended Life's survival time), there's still the question of whether that's important to something other than human, and if humanity will ever see something other/greater than human as more important than human lizard brain "pursuit of happiness".

Prior to Humanism, it was generally taught that the Super-Natural was in charge of everything: that our natural animal behaviors were to be suppressed and groomed for service to the super-natural and to the greater good of cultural/geographical groups.

The story of the Tower of Babel or Garden of Eden (tree of knowledge) has some merit there: keep humans from globalizing because that's too much power, and power corrupts.

The ability of humans to counteract the corruption of power is still an unproven part of the Intention Question.

Did humanity's CO2 dumping extend our existence enough to figure it out?

We'll see. Time is of the essence for large numbers of us to squeeze through the window as those with energy and power continue filling storage bins, CAFOs and cities with flammable bodies.
