A more general programming/implementation/learning question: What do you think is the best modern language for hardware control/interfacing that has the shortest learning curve (assuming PC or Linux to either Arduino and Raspberry Pi usage)? Why do all of the instruction manuals and books assume everybody just wants to make web pages and databases? Who is making physical stuff actually do work, and why don't they write a book about it? I know, I know, I should just look on YouTube, but that's just a time sink...
