actually , it comes up all the time in agricultural circles as, "We need petroleum to feed the world." What it really means is we keep fattening the cattle and filling cars with corn syrup because it makes the highest profits, but it's the toughest nut to crack when farm subsidies get idiots elected and grain pays down deficits.
We've spent the last 100 years replacing people on farms with oil and poisons so those people can have cheap food and jobs to buy oil and mcmansions built on farmland rendered useless except to cars. Today's 'solution' is usually to sell electric cars. Yeah, that'll fix everything.
