Agree, mostly. I think we should stop calling high schools “school”, though. They are sex and conformity gymnasiums. With that in mind, go back through the lists and elaborate. I like where you’re trying to go. I am not much for specialization, but it may be time for Americans to realize that it’s OK to specialize occupationally but to actively compartmentalize occupation from a diverse self and self worth. In doing so, it is also OK to grow out of insecurities about belief and ownership and safety. The rugged individualism myth might need to be put in a history of psychology book and left there with the factory school and competitive sports Fandomself. The actual move into the 21st century is not going to be televised or advertised.
