Am I the only one who thinks the first step is just to eliminate half the grid demand? WTF?

Solar energy accounts for a small fraction of our current energy needs now. We’re talking single digits. To transition half the world’s energy grid to solar, we would destroy the planet.

Am I the only one who thinks the first step is just to eliminate half the grid demand? WTF?
That puts a "transition" closer to 1/4 of what is being burned now.
Most of the crap people are doing doesn't need to be done. Like me writing here. I can quit anytime.
