Americans buy cars to drive to jobs to buy cars. The government builds more and more roads for the cars. We build garages for our cars. We wash our cars. Cars are the dominant species.

Of course we should be concerned if the cars aren't happy. We should be concerned that we allow car dealers to still exist and that the government has written laws specifically to protect them in nearly every state (that's why you can't buy a car on Sunday, you can't buy a car directly from a manufacturer, and Tesla can't sell you a car in a showroom.)
