I think you're missing an entire era of our species; the "beating it out of them" era where autism spectrum 'didn't exist' for millennia because 'introverts' were relegated to monasteries or death for questioning bullies. It has only been since the Industrial Revolution that the luxury of thoughtful contemplation was allowed outside to play for the exploitation of war mongers (knife salesmen).
