Any discussion of dietary salt should assess iodine, mg and selenium in tissues, as well as general diet and exercise. Salt is critical for stomach function, iodine for thyroid, exercise and fiber for bowel and neurochemical balance, etc. An especially overlooked factor is the use of water softeners in the western world, and the effects of soft water and antacids on mineral levels, and the blood vs tissue levels as references.
