At first, I was thinking it is about anti-establishmentarian thinking, but on second thought, I thought it is about "gub'mint tellin' us what to do!", but finally, I realized that it's like everything else: people don't want to hear that they are fucking wrong. That's why they avoid preachers, cops and books.

"It's OK to be smarter than everyone else, Sheldon. You just can't tell them that." - Mrs Cooper

The Right tells them that every dumbass cult and idea (especially if it sells) is a "right" and "liberty" as they use this form of idiocracy populism for selfish authoritarian gains.

The discussions then drift to "Elitists treat us like we're stupid" vs " 'our kind' give us credit for tradition" instead of having a discussion of "Stupid is as stupid does".
