Auntie's aphorism: Competition paints the targets. Resentment pulls the trigger. Religions are often a good representation of the group usefulness. God is the identity focus and marketing department for tribe/town meetings(cooperation toward town goals), but competing churches in the same town defeat their own usefulness. The whole town should meet together and then break out into sessions/committees. Another example would be for Iowa caucusing to start with a collective discussion, then break out to voting groups without pre-registered brands. Starting out with tattooed foreheads (or advertising) is no way to run a species.
