Because nobody stops and asks, "What are people good for?" Other than, "making money by bullying other people and making more people", nobody actually looks at this problem from the standpoint of the places that those houses sit upon. What are people contributing to their places? What do cities contribute to their regions? What are nations contributing to the planet?

Fucking nothing. Just like God is a product that never has to be delivered, we have made ourselves in that image: a product that doesn't have to deliver anything to any place.
