Biden is the most Republican half of Obama, who was the most Republican since Clinton (either one, they’re a bundled OS/Office suite). This is America. Reason’s got nuthin’ to do with it. It’s all fear and money (hence, the emphasis on insurance vs. good health, jobs vs. usefulness and houses vs. places). The opposite of capitalism isn’t socialism, anyway: it’s sales taxes. Social democracy isn’t a thing except in Scandinavia, where everyone is taught to cooperate and share from birth. Everywhere else, it’s just a threat to ‘The Economy’ and when it’s ‘one dollar = one vote’, those dollars always vote for the other dollars.

The Liberal wing of our capitalist democracy knows how dependent it is on keeping the status quo.
