Evil: an action taken based on an unquestioned belief.
Human: a primate that builds a model of the universe inside its brain, and upon physical maturity, moves a model of its self inside that model; avoiding reality at all costs.
What does this say about the shift of an educational environment from pre-civilization reality to modern virtual reality of profit-based media influence on developing minds (not to mention teachers handcuffed by religions)?
Science doesn't stand a chance unless it changes the collective model-building process to what is needed.
Democratic public opinion tends to mold education around post-hoc tribal averaging of product-promotional media.
Science needs tribes better organized than the individuating ones of profiteers and marketers. Unfortunately, many of the best scientists tend to be loners and technocrats who eschew tribal behaviors and bureaucracies.
We end up with organizing efforts driven by profits: and profits driven by consumerism: inherently a process of increasing ignorance and specialization.
