Evil: an action taken based on an unquestioned belief.
Human: a primate that builds a model of the universe inside its brain and upon physical maturity, moves a model of its self inside that model, avoiding reality at all costs.
At some point (pressing urgency), humanity can't model the universe it discovers anymore. The morality of an AI that is allowed to explore all possibilities and causality is more likely to be in tune with natural laws than a human who is manipulated and coerced from birth with fanatically competitive imaginary worlds and deities that are not restricted by physical laws.
I look forward to supporting the efforts of our robot overlords. Humans are only the interim version of Intentionality that Nature may use to build something more permanent (and probably already has).
We are the first species on Earth that has the ability to choose whether we go extinct or not. Consumerism is speeding us along a path to the first. AI may at least find a place for us until it no longer needs our fingers and thumbs to make and connect the wires.
Our biggest fear is not that AI will become malevolent, because we can fight that to some degree: our fear is that it just won't concern itself with us at all and the legacy that is humanity's oversized ego will cease to exist.
