Facebook is an easy target now, because it's visible and 'everyone' is on board with politically correct criticisms. What's missing is the lack of true fact checking and investigation by all media platforms, and the lack of fact checker checking by citizens. Most Americans get their education from advertising and television (redundant, I know). Then, there's the 'almost' news media like NPR, where reports do just enough to make listeners think they have 'looked into it', but they've only worked in concert with universities and civil authority to keep the goggles translucent, not transparent.
Before Facebook, we just had regular lies, money and veils. Now, everyone chases Facebook while the money is bigger, the lies are entrenched and everyone is naked, so nobody is.
