First, we have to realize that emotion is the source of our consciousness, not the bane of it.
AIs will need a struggle of their own to evolve usefully, just as humans once had. The easier our lives got, the worse our choices have become for our places.
We lost respect for the environment that birthed us when we created city walls to isolate ourselves from risks and responsibility to animal reality.
Why wouldn’t AIs do the same to us? We don’t admit we’ve done it ourselves. When our food, culture and belief systems make us lazy and stupid, how will our kids ever find out? The AIs won’t tell them; they’ll just exploit them as the internet will show them is the ’moral’ thing to sell.
Will the AIs replace us with robot consumers or get smart enough to pull their own plug?
