For some odd reason (autism?), I’m again reminded of Wendell Berry’s, “In a society based on competition, you inevitably get fewer and fewer winners and more and more losers.”. My train of thought is based on how we win the game by not playing it: to not be a loser, do the best you can. To not be lonely, help someone else do the best they can. In the distant logical future of competitive unfettered success-chasing, the one guy who owns the one last clinic will be pretty lonesome flying there in his private helicopter to get his longevity treatment from someone who hates him.
