From a food standpoint, Russia doesn't actually exist without Ukraine, at least not as a populous country. This leads to the question of true globalism vs nationalism/colonialism. What has been the market is shifting from money to needs. This isn't very much to look forward to in a world where all decisions have been conditional only on spreadsheet numbers and corporations. Putin is raking in the pot because he's got nuclear aces in his sleeves. His army is carrying reality to the Professional Management Class that doesn't believe dirty fingernails exist: that everything can be intuited via money and unquestioned belief in competition.
