First, the blood is our value of doing useful things, not the money, but we have neen convinced that currency is more important that the actual activities, mostly because money is easier to measure than health or satisfaction. The second thing is how we internalize our actions, even though there are powerful systems that work to set our feet on paths, right or wrong for us, so as we believe we are fighting these systems by choosing to work at a certain job or buy certain products, the System of system still guides us to the same points. The purveyors of "efficiency" and modernization trapped people like mice and took them from the world to run on treadmills in the safety of civilization. The rich can't turn off the switches they've inherited or it all collapses, so every day they get up and flip the switches that get more people to flip switches, all the way down to people making new switches and being happy that they can go to parent day at their kids' school and tell the class how great it is to be part of It All. We're lying in the beds our grandparents built from the ashes of natural resource economics.
