Have you read “The Cause of all Nations” by Don Doyle? I only bring it up because its point is about how the Civil War was important to all of the countries trying to overthrow aristocrats(most rebellions were losing, and those 'terrorists' joined the Union army to get training). Juneteenth is special to Blacks in Texas, and it’s also an important threshold marking when democracy was actually implemented and enforced, not just declared, and it should be appreciated for and by more than just the USA. Black Texans created an important marker that is celebrating an event much greater than most of us can really appreciate. To me, knowing about it makes the current state of moneyed aristocracy seem so very much worse (we should know better and fight it), and anyone participating in the modern version of exploitation by convenience should not be allowed to just jump in for a reason to get drunk and forget responsibilities to future generations.
