Having been through the Iowa caucasing in 2016 and 2020, I can't fault your assessment much. I don't think it's as dire as it seems, though. Harris mostly needs to say as little as possible and ignore the Republican attacks, instead focusing on the needs of the country, and that means motivating the public to see their own part in the future as participants, enabled by practical and simple programs (The time-worn JFK speech). The US constitution and bureaucracy is designed to handle stupid rather well, but not crazy. Even mean (Jackson, Nixon) isn't as bad as crazy(constitutionally), especially when crazy is a cult.
I thank you for the Conway suggestion. This is the U.S., however, and if you hadn't noticed, psychopathy is quite entrenched. It's just business.
