I put that link in to support your point. Personally, I'm one of those fatalists for the most part, but the amount of waste in our System of systems (illustrated by the link) leaves room for hope that the worse things get, the faster people will realize they have to do something (if only to be conscious and make a choice to work or give up). Too much hope in this situation is as fatal as not enough. We need to find the right balance between fatalism and hopium so that the majority are scared enough to act, but not terrified of the crackdown by the PTB. First, the PTB need to be terrified of the consequences of the status quo. Otherwise, the more people act and demonstrate, the more they will crack down on freedom, rather than on consumption.
