Human: a primate that builds a model of its universe inside its brain, and upon physical maturity, moves a model of its self inside that model and avoids reality at all costs.

Civilization (city-based society): a system of isolation (walls) between human beings and the environment that spawned them.

The only 'right' granted by nature is the Right to Try to Live. Humans figured out how to invent all kinds of rights among ourselves, but usually by taking away the right of other living things to try. We call that "conquering Nature".

Like plants grown in a greenhouse, humans have traded their ability to produce truly flavorful lives for quantity and stability.
