I agree that the myth of pure logic is never going to be conscious without multiple regenerative AIs ('hormones'), and that the emergent phenomenon that amplified our proprioception to become awareness depends on hormones.

Regenerative AI is trying to do this, but, just as civilization eliminates natural selective risk from our own actuality, the market forces (like TBTF banks) will keep data and algorithms alive that are actually net consumptive because that is the profit margin of those who own (and sell) property (real or statutory). Nature spent billions of years pruning emotions and establishing feedback from multiple species in risky environments to develop Net Useful behaviors and organisms to store and adapt. Humanity offered the opportunity for Nature to have predictive agency. It was a grand mutational experiment that is obviously failing globally. We tinker around with mechanisms until those mechanisms kill us. That's how humans have always done things, usually building mechanisms intentionally designed to kill other humans. Is this any different? Is there anyone who believes that AI development is not about competition and power?

Look around. Everything in the contemporary System of systems was built to amplify testosterone in one way or another. Calling a weapon a 'tool' doesn't make it less of a weapon.
