I feel like you're on the right track with bottom-up strategy. I keep coming back to the paradigm of competitive consumptionism. We need both to go away (competition and consumptionism) to become cooperative contributors. Saners are in competition with a system based on aggressive exploitation. Stuck in my hindbrain is the thought, "If your plan to save the world begins with raising money, you don't understand the real problem."
The question everyone needs to ask themselves is this," Is your comfort, culture and pursuit of happiness more important than your children's survival and progress?"
As fewer people accumulate a greater share of resources, we are able to see the effects of this sudden death tournament called "competitive free markets". The Invisible Hand has always been a fist.
