I liked a letter that someone wrote to New Scientist a couple of years ago. The gist of it was, "I can't believe in an entity that doesn't have to abide by the laws of physics that we know."
Just because the people who wrote religious books didn't know about the laws of physics doesn't mean their omnipotent being wasn't subject to them.
Maybe we don't know all of the rules yet, but we know enough to see when something doesn't add up. Celebrating a lack of leadership with ignorance isn't freedom. It's just stupid propheteering. That's why we have an Economy of Stupid.
