I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I've been thinking about this a long time, as well. As much as the romanticized version of churches is kept in our mythology, the bottom line is that churches are actually a tool of exclusion, but they are also a useful tool of civilization. The long term question is whether civilization is useful to Nature itself. We need tools that allow people to be useful to places, not to authorities and money.

The basic methodology of individuation is to 'divide and conquer' the instincts of humans to become a locally-integrated tribe on a particular piece of land. Civilization breaks up those tribes and creates tribes that benefit civilization's version of wealth and power. In that sense, we become pawns that are manipulated by our systems.
