I picked up a Nov 1941 Farm Journal mag recently and one of the political comments was about the inflation from full employment in the US providing for 'Europe's' war. A proposal was "inflation tax", where income would be taxed at the inflation rate so that the extra money would go to the war effort instead of to corporations inflating prices.
