I see yet another credentialized, overempowered coward hiding behind ignorance and a wall of mediocrity and who knows damn well what the climate is doing (adding energy to the system every year). They keep running to details and nests of isolated data so that they can have the hopium that "someone will do something" and they won't have to be the person telling an angry mob that angry mobs aren't the best solution.

Fortunately for most of history, angry mobs have been the solution to most systemic failures, and this one (suicidal consumptionism) just happens to be the biggest yet. Anyone with an hour to think about it can see how useless and wasteful most of modern civilization has become, but we aren't allowed to just start turning off the big switches yet. It's always too soon to stop making money.
