I think every civil project we undertake needs to be anchored in the review of the concepts in your book "Coercion". People need to know how vulnerable they are and how important their neighbors and friends are for defending each other against the theft of time, attention and resources by marketers, and that the "news product" is all marketing. The lack of real skepticism (doubting only one side isn't skepticism) is how people lose faith in real institutions: even the ones their families built. Modern tech has been an effective tool for individuating and extracting wealth from citizens who forget to run the divisive snake oil vendors out of town or off the news feed (everyone is too busy working and shopping).
