I was thinking mostly along the lines of our relationship to the other animals in a pro-Earth structured society, but I'm not denying a hint at the Hitler trolley car, either. We get back to the fundamental problem with human intraspecies relationships inside city walls (real or virtual walls): Unquestioned belief that there are shortages, ad antages or even individual identities to justify competitions. The Hitler problem was a world property and money hoarding problem long before he came along. Authoritarian violence makes it seem like the answer is "yes", but the German corporations would have found someone else. Better to go to Serbia and protect Ferdinand to prevent WWI by talking to the anarchists, or going to Detroit to get Henry Ford to stick to tractors..or better yet, killing Edward Bernays. My personal favorite time travel scenario would be teaching America's First Nations about vaccines and crossbows.

Meanwhile, in the present, we have a Meanness problem with consumptionism that is allowing people to believe they can continue to compete with Reality and each other over unnecessary products and individuation that is based on blind belief that we serve a god called "The Economy", rather than our home economics serving our global future. We are about 5 centuries behind the curve, but it's all we have to work with right now: mice fighting for existence in a world full of predators.
