I was trained as a radar technician at one time. The definition of an antenna is "an impedance matching device". It is the interface between wires and air or space. Without a proper antenna, signals just bounce back like they hit a wall. I think of trees as antennae that the soil generates in order to talk to the sky and listen to the sun. Perhaps Christians make the cross symbol for the same reason: to talk to God (the sky) and listen to His son's words (not necessarily very well, tho).

As a general note on drawing, I recently read a research theory that humans actually developed the abilities of consciousness and speech first through the process of making stone tools, and the motor skills of our hands translate to our ability to think and transfer physical ideation to other humans and into stone. It is easier to communicate with chimpanzees through hands/sign language, after all.

We tend to trap ourselves in our thought bubbles as though our brains are independent of physical reality and proprioception, as though our bodies are an accessory that can be taken off.

Civilization itself tries to do the same on the macro scale: isolating the 'civilized' human from the wild earth and pretending that civilization has "conquered" Nature. Meanwhile, many many discussions have ensued about "human nature" that ignore how our individual nature is formed en masse by environment, especially the coercive imaginary environments of modern life. "Humans are lazy", "humans are greedy", "humans are mean", or "humans are competitive": all based on humans raised as competing individuals in an arena of limited physical connection to living earth or sky.
