If nothing else, I have lately been just reading and trying to offer encouragement and claps to the many great writers trying to help in their ways.
I am reading "Hyperion" and its sequel now. The story of a future humanity at the mercy of its own mistakess and technology has been rewritten many times, each iteration providing a hero/miracle escapist salvation... Hyperion tends toward a total accumulation of our sins, and punishment for everyone all around. As you point out, there's really no escaping the randomness and entropy that feed on complexity. We are tasked with making peace with our places and to try not to be too stupid.
