I’m hopeful in the dystopia because humans in groups only really learn from failure. American capitalists and marketers have been too successful for too long at exploitation of all resources, including people.

Democrats were too successful with the income tax code to learn how it corrupted democracy. Republicans have been too successful with tax cuts and machismo to realize how weak it makes them.

Failure is the best option.
