I'm older than you, but my favorites were the blues metal and ballad bands of the '70s and '80s, even if they went 'Pop' (Styx, Kansas, Supertramp, Judas Priest, Metallica). 40 years later, I get on the motorcycle and put on Rush if the plan is to enjoy the ride and not just get to point B.
