Individualism is misunderstood by both left and right, so it's not surprising that it gets butchered. Kazinsky saw the left as evil, but fighting one evil doesn't make you good. Good is unrelated to evil. Bad things aren't necessarily evil. The Left has some evil (actions taken based on unquestioned belief) as do the fanatical libertarians. Humans are tribal animals, and individual development gets the wolf you feed. Feeding authoritarianism/cedentialism produces bullies and credentialists. The right sells individualism so everyone can buy a special life: just like everyone else. The Left sells their version as humanism, but it's really just a copout from the tooth and claw of reality, functional only behind city walls that nobody wants to pay for.
