It all comes down to the income tax code and all of the reasons we keep it. The Left is afraid of sales taxes (real costs at the purchase point, where all decisions are made) and the Right is afraid of UBI (valuing people just for being residents/citizens), and ALL politicians are addicted to writing special interest tax breaks and incentives for every new way to 'create jobs' or avoid pissing off great big organizations based on imaginary entities.

News media get their money by selling advertising based on ratings. Their ratings are based on eyeballs and clicks that are stimulated Pavlovian style with violence, discord, disinformation and fear, and products are sold with emotional ignorance (the opposite of logical intelligence).

Everyone is branded and herded into the chutes by their genitals and all of it is tax-deductible on the corporate spreadsheets.

Why don't people want a 'better' life? Because it's more profitable for them to be stupid and senseless, and every single policy is derived from those profits.

One dollar = one vote.

Nobody is voting against the dollars.
