I've been advocating for sales/consumption taxes for over 25 years. Every time, the same response comes back to me, "Sales taxes are REGRESSIVE and UNFAIR to the poor!!" Yeah, like overconsumption, global warming and pro-corruption income tax has been FAIR to the poor. We have made people valueless to the petroleum economy. All the money needs people for is to pretend they are necessary to turn on the engines. Server farms are automatically burning energy to bet on failure of the economy (crypto) at the same time they bet on perpetual server farms.
