Let's first establish what the fundamental is. In the USA, that fundamental is that we know the price of everything and the value of nothing: including ourselves. If we are going to seek the value in people, we have to ask "What are people for?" instead of "What do people buy?"
We can start by fighting the corruption that is the income tax code: a system designed to keep people from knowing either the cost of goods or the value of their labors at the points they work or buy.
Unfortunately for most of humanity, the changes that need to happen are generationally dependent and we have just about 3 years, I'm guessing, before the Perception of Perpetual Growth collapses on our heads.
