Let’s make that comparison between academic systems in schools vs sports, as well. Bullies were built up as “teams" and community while individuals trying to learn were treated like outcasts unless they’re rich and go to private enclaves, or have educated parents to guide them through the gauntlet of academic hoops and finances.
