Nice rant, Tessa! It doesn't even occur to the pollsters to ask, "Would you change your behavior if you could see the cost of everything in the price of products?"

The 'economists' won't even let anyone try to do a test because that would kill the economy that is killing the planet.

The aphorism(?) I like is, "We can't afford a stable future planet for our children."

That's basically the belief of our 'leadership'.
