No. We are not. We believe that civilization makes us separate and special, but so far, it has actually eroded our sensibilities and allowed selfishness of species to dominate our relationship with reality. Nature's morality is "contributory useful persistence", and civilization has focused on consumptive competitive uselessness to nature.
