Not exactly. The 'premise' was to sell advertising (they couldn't fit any more advertisements into Rush Limbaugh's 4 hour radio show). It was advertising for companies that focus on the Reaganized toxic masculinity of unfettered competition and patriotic bullshit: Bullies. Bullies love bullying. They buy products that bully (Globalization, guns, muscle cars, comically oversized trucks, ATVs, and BEER! More BEER!). Sports! I've owned these things myself over the years trying to keep my head above water in the blue collar world.

"Go! Fight! WIN!"

"Kill the UMP!!"

That's what Fox gets its "bottomless pockets" from.

As the paraphrased parable goes, "Give a man a fish (NPR) and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to sell fish, and the oceans will boil with propellers."

Fox has the goal of boiling the oceans so they can sell pre-cooked fish as well as the trucks and bass boats to go get them.

The 'opposing' 'news products' are piggybacking on Fox's Spectacle to sell anxiety drugs, electric cars, protest signs and documentaries about how it's all the fault of the Red States abandoned by liberals long ago.
