Nothing Much to Say Anymore
There are a lot of great writers already.
What kind of pretty picture would you like to see? A cat sucking its sibling’s toes? A baby on a pony?
Ray Katz posted a notable essay about protests being ineffective.
I wanted to write some smart reply, but all I can come up with these days is doomey. As I’ve said before, “The world doesn’t want to be saved: it wants to be rich.”
Tik…fucking…tok, three mice ran up a clock. The clock struck one and the other two escaped with minor injuries.
Two guys walked into a bar. The third one ducked. In today’s world, he’s a fucking genius.
Let’s go back to the topic of “teaching people how to survive without civilization (city-based society)”.
Why?
It’s not that we shouldn’t try to stop the coming disasters by stopping fossil fuel use: it’s that the problem isn’t fossil fuels: it’s human selfishness and detachment from our natural places.
Everything humanity has done since ‘bread’ has been an extraction process: a colonialist war against the planet.
We ‘won’ that war when we built city walls to isolate ourselves from the responsibilities to our environment. Yay us. We’ve got planes, trains and automobiles.
