Once the electric vehicle paradigm gets a little settled (skateboard chassis with different body styles), then interop could really put a lot of waste to bed. Same wheels and tires, bolt patterns, motor frames, mounts and shafts, same battery form factor and connect, same seat mounting (ditch all the electric crap on seats and buy the seat that fits you or print one).
We really need to get rid of the patent system as we know it to focus on contribution rather than consumption.
I'm surprised this guy is still around, but I did a search after 20 years and Voila!
