One of the 'benefits' of having a head injury is learning about how tiny our Executive Function is compared to our 'lizard brain'. It's my hypothesis that humans don't really function as a useful species without a group ability to combine executive function and make a system (tribe) to overcome our animal sense-response behaviors. The individual can make a formidable predator, but not reproduce as effectively without a tribe. Modern civilization has co-opted our natural functionality of pack animals to stimulate the lizard brain for profits and power.

Until the profiteers and propheteers collapse, or until people are faced with the dire situation of dying from famine or dying in a revolution, nothing changes significantly. This cycle has been repeated many times, but we are at the point where the cycle is affecting the whole planet, and without either intentional de-civilization/de-growth or unintentional collapse, there's a pretty significant chance humanity will be extinct.

This is the test of whether real Intentionality can exist for a whole species and the environment that spawned it.

Are humans intentional beings, or just a primate enslaved to its overzealous appetites?

The Invisible Hand Job (moderation by competitive moral turpitude) is not a plan.
