One of the biggest disinformation problems as I see it is that climate change isn't the core problem, neither is carbon dioxide. These are just symptoms, and all of the pundits and doctors will forever argue about which symptoms to ignore or treat (and the price of treatments). The actual core problem is consumptionism and marketing: which are basically what North American civilization (city-based society) is based on. The short time that Eurocentric colonialism (more consumptionism) has dominated the continent has not been enough time to realize that everything we know about economics is actually backward (taking rather than giving to the planet). Technology has allowed everyone to ignore reality just long enough to cause the climate to heat up. 600 years of competitive dumbassery isn't in the IPCC report, and it will never be. The 'success' of consumptionism in North America has now taken over most of the world's economies (see "Ukraine"). The world doesn't want to be saved, it wants to be rich.
