Reaching for the 'good enough' tool is what seeds are best at. Survival of the "fittest" means the wrench that fits the nut. Plants have such a huge toolbox that they can't move it around, so they have to pack the magic of their wrenches (ability to fit) into DNA that can be carried on the wind or stuck to a raccoon. Plants wanted to have sex so bad, they invented hummingbirds.

In our competitive quest for fantasy and "the best", we've lost the sense of letting good enough magic happen where we are, and standing still long enough for plants to find us.

The latest news on gene sequencing is an innocuous fern that has about 70 times the tools of a human. Orchids feed their offspring utilizing underground fungal networks. Be careful. If a unicorn does show up, you don't want to be in front of it.

PS I don't recommend working naked when welding. ;)
