Shit, there are people that grew up in rural towns that went off and got those jobs and degrees who don't know how rural conservatives think because they left before they learned to recognize and verbalize the 'isms. When Trump was elected, there was a lot of angst about the 'Bubble Mentality' of people, especially those who never served in the military, collected welfare or worked a physical labor job. The easy 'elitist' targets are the urbanites of wealth, but there are a lot of rural townees and farm kids who left to become 'edumacated' and live in denial of the ignorance, meanness and racism of their own families.

They have to, because it's a prison that they can't break out of without killing the guards on the inside and the outside.
