Cities(civilization is technically, “city-based society”) are an evolutionary trap that allows people to believe and act as though there are no real consequences to overconsumption and exploitation of their natural space. Populations thrive in such traps…until they can’t.
Nature always bats last.
“Human rights” laws and organizations allow the pretense that the powerful can be stopped from exploiting the weak, but it’s only temporary while the collective action is still humanity’s competing death cults conducting war on the natural resources needed by future humans (who don’t get to vote).
